Upon repeal of prohibition, Rudolph C. Kopf founded the wine and spirits department of Macy's department store in New York, the year was 1933. It quickly gained a reputation as the finest wine and spirits shop in the country and Kopf became recognized as one of America’s most knowledgeable wine and spirits professionals.
In 1944 he decided to turn his knowledge and relationships toward establishing his own company, which would become Kobrand Corporation. His founding principles were simple: first was quality of product, second was the quality of people, and third was the quality of relationships created. Regarding quality of product, Mr. Kopf was determined to represent only the very finest products in any given category, with regard to quality of people, he built the finest sales and sales support team in the wine and spirit industry, and when it came to relationships, Mr. Kopf was a true visionary in developing partnerships with both his distributors and suppliers.
Kobrand’s ownership and senior management are intently committed to the future. Their goal is build solidly on the quality of products, people, and relationships that brought them success at Kobrand's inception.
Established by the Kobrand Corporation, the Le Reve Foundation Scholarship is to be awarded to a female student of good standing pursuing a graduate degree in V&E. It is desired that the student have a minimum 3.5 GPA. It is a goal of the foundation to keep dreams alive.
