Job Title: FULL-TIME CELLAR WORKER FOR CINDER WINERY

Job Description: We are a 10,000 case winery focused on producing premium wines out of the Snake River Valley. Our urban winery is located in Garden City, Idaho, just 5 minutes away from downtown Boise. We are a small and passionate team who are looking for an individual to join us in a full-time, year-round position. Must be able to start by August 21st.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced cellar worker to strengthen our cellar team. This person, under the general direction of the winemaker and in concert with the cellar technician, will help perform all cellar duties, train and work as a team with temporary workers, contribute ideas on improvement of winery operations, and help facilitate the sales team’s efforts to engage our customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Cleaning, sanitizing, and sterilizing of all winery equipment and facilities
Racking and pumping of juice and wine
Making chemical and nutrient additions to juice and wine
Barrel Work including filling, topping, repair, and gassing
Operating the forklift
Operating crush pad equipment
Operating cross-flow filter and bottling equipment
Performing minor mechanical repairs
Driving a truck
Supervising temporary workers
Following and observing all safe cellar practices
Using senses to detect problems or off-odors
Following written and verbal instructions exactly
Filling out paperwork exactly for record keeping and compliance
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE
Prior winery experience required. Must be able to work independently from supervisor and mange a team of temporary workers. Must have ability to communicate effectively in writing with good skills in reading, writing, and basic math. Must be able to communicate professionally including group problem solving, idea generating, and broaching sensitive issues with colleagues. Must be able to communicate through technology like email, shared calendars, shared documents. Must be able to work safely around equipment, electrical outlets, and chemicals. Individuals selected for this position must be reliable, detail-oriented, and have good work ethic. Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and overtime as needed particularly during the harvest season. Must be able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to climb ladders safely. Must be able to stand and move around for up to 10 hours per day. Routinely required to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and able to lift and move up to 50lbs of weight. Must be able to manipulate equipment with fingers and hands. Must be able to see near, see far and have depth perception.
