Job Title: Hospitality & DTC Manager

Job Description: Our first Hospitality and DTC Manager will be a self-motivated and highly enthusiastic individual who leads with integrity and is genuinely driven to deliver high-touch experiences for guests and customers. The person in this role must desire to build community and connection to successfully grow our direct sales channels including leading all aspects of our forthcoming tasting room in Carmel-By-The-Sea. This is a key position for our winery serving as a brand ambassador and storyteller.
This is a unique opportunity to shape our hospitality program from the ground up. A successful candidate will bring to this new position previous experience leading a tasting room, as well as wine industry or relevant hospitality experience that involves direct sales and events.
Overview of Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for all direct to consumer sales, with a primary role as our tasting room lead in a forthcoming space in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, including the following specific tasks:
Tasting Bar Management and Operations
Manage reservations and POS platforms and run all aspects of the tasting room
Set up and host all tastings for guests per Responsible Beverage Service guidelines
Be responsible for capturing relevant customer information and maintain a CRM database to assist with sales and marketing efforts
Develop relationships with partners including concierges, restaurants and business owners to encourage referral traffic
Manage inventory and deliveries to support tasting room activities and sales
Create and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training for future employees
Maintain an impeccable and hospitable environment in the tasting room
Wine Club Management
Plan and execute wine club shipments in partnership with the Estate Director
Manage all wine club releases and communication to club members in Orderport and Mailchimp
Facilitate fulfillment and delivery of all winery pickup and shipping orders
Lead event planning and execution for member events
Ecomm and Fulfillment
Oversee ecomm channel in partnership with the Estate Director and lead process for introducing new vintages and skus
Facilitate fulfillment and shipping of all orders outside release periods through the winery
Must:
Be over 21 years of age and possess a California RBS permit
Be local to the Carmel, CA area
Be available to work evening hours and weekends (the consistent schedule for this role is Thurs-Mon) and assist with offsite events where our brand is represented as needed
Lift 50 lbs and be able to stand for long periods of time
Have relevant/current experience with the Orderport and Vinoshipper platforms and understand winery shipping compliance
Desired Competencies & Attributes

Detail oriented with eye toward organization and maintaining high standards
Ability to multi-task, pivot and adapt to serve the needs of the business and to support the tasting room as it evolves
Confidence in sales and customer engagement with excellent communication skills
A wine education background with certifications from CMS and/or WSET
Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with the following software programs: Orderport, VinoShipper, Google Suite, QuickBooks and Mailchimp

Pay Scale: $30/hr plus incentive program
